This workshop provides a clinical overview of racial trauma and how to conceptualize its development in people of color, as well as an outline for effectively approaching the clinical treatment of clients who have experienced racial trauma.

Learning Objectives

  • Participants will be able to describe the connection between race-based traumatic stress injury and chronic psychological distress experienced by BIPOC individuals.

  • Participants will be able to list 2 key steps/processes involved in successfully & therapeutically talking with clients about discrimination, racial stress, and racial trauma.

  • Participants will be able to identify 2 ways to evaluate the extent of and move the needle on, one’s own involvement in promoting racial equity.

Each 50 - 60 minute training module (1 CE hour each) is followed by a brief knowledge acquisition assessment, which must be passed at 80% proficiency before moving on to the subsequent module. Your certificate will be granted upon successful completion of all modules. Partial CE credit cannot be granted.
