Culturally-Informed Telemental Health Supervision
Advancing Skills Across Cultural and Geographic Boundaries
This workshop will review the complexities inherent in distance supervision, including but not limited to managing supervisee anxiety, accountability for modeling standards of distance service provision, and crisis intervention support.
Discussion will also focus on how supervisors can discuss racial and cultural differences between themselves and their supervisees, toward increased supervisory rapport and effectiveness. Considerations for cultural competence development and clinical evaluating supervisees of differing skills levels will be covered, towards fostering their improved effectiveness and cultural competence in clinical service provision.
Relevant sections of the 2014 ACA Code of Ethics and the NBCC Distance Codes of Ethics will be incorporated.
