This workshop helps to foster helpful conversations around diversity and provides insight for BIPOC faculty on finding spaces for support while approaching or experiencing burnout, tips for holding space for diverse students needing support related to diversity issues, perspectives on providing community consultation, and ways to maintain a passion for the work, even while experiencing battle fatigue.
Learning Objectives
- Participants will be able to describe ways to engage in self-care practices to deal with burnout and battle fatigue by identifying where to find support as a BIPOC individual
- Participants will be able to identify ways to provide mental, emotional, and developmental support for students of different cultural backgrounds who need support related to diversity issues
- Participants will be able to explain ways of approaching community consultation in the area of diversity education.
